Embers created by Volcalix's flaming scales mimic the effects of high underground heat, compressing the ground and increasing the chance of earthquakes. Miners cave in tunnels filled with these scales to cut off the oxygen flow and end their burning.

Volcalix live even further underground than Onix. A sea of fire engulfs the surroundings of their battles, since they use their six wings to scatter their ember scales.
