Shellapex crawls along coral reefs and licks up meals of detritus from the safety of its venomous dome. Even though it is dangerous to harvest, its core body is sweet and tender, but very finicky to cook as it will burn and turn rubbery quickly.

Those attacked by Shellapex's poison will suffer intense pain for three days and three nights. At night, it burrows a hole in the seafloor with its broad tongue to make a place to sleep.
