While Spinkip normally stutters while walking, water passing through its cheek gills helps it stay balanced and walk. Red spots that look different from its other red spots are actually bruises it got from punching itself in its stumble.

On land, it can powerfully lift large boulders by planting its four feet and heaving. It is distinguished by a pattern of spots that is always different.
