Its body has completely hardened as it begins its metamorphosis into a new evolutionary stage. Since in this state it is totally defenseless, Slowpod tries to remain still, hiding among the riverbank algae until it can emerge from its pink shell.
Its shell is as hard as an iron slab. It catches prey by dipping its tail in water at the side of a river.
