Before sleeping, Sladew places a berry it has found inside its bud. When it wakes, it eats the berry to help ease the waking process.

While awaiting evolution, Sladew spend their days napping in trees, holding onto or hanging from branches using their twisted claws. If bothered, Sladew can shiver and shake their bodies to release a mild poisonous powder.

Over the winter, it closes its bud and endures the cold. It sleeps virtually all day and night long.
