Rapilix tunnels deep below volcanos, the heat and pressure hardening its spikes into diamonds. It is coveted as a partner by Pokémon Rangers as it can dig trenches around disasters to mitigate danger while being safe from blunt damage and fire.
Turning its body at high speeds lets Rapilix become a flaming drill able to tunnel through bedrock with ease. The tunnels it digs this way smoulder with still-burning flames for hours after it's finished digging.
POKENAME live even further underground than Onix. It usually canters casually in the fields and plains.
