Mudjask dives quickly into the nearest mud source to hide itself when predators are near. Once the coast is clear, it uses the rapid movement of its wings to fling the mud off and allow it to fly freely once more.

Because it darts about vigorously at high speed, it is very difficult to see. On land, it can powerfully lift large boulders by planting its four feet and heaving.
