Ivypert spend most of their time partially submerged in the mud of swamps, passively absorbing nutrients from around them and from sunlight. They are capable of a surprising turn of speed when disturbed, but prefer to flee rather than fight.

If it senses the approach of a storm and a tidal wave, it protects its seaside nest by piling up boulders. To support its bulb, Ivypert's legs grow sturdy.
