Googast's body is made up of fine granules of sand covered in a layer of gooey membrane. The shovel atop Googast's head is difficult to remove and doing so causes it to attack the offender until the shovel is returned.

It likes the shovel on its head, so Googast will get serious and fight any children who come to take it back. Its source of protection is its slimy, germ-laden mucous membrane.
