Electakarp jump high out of the water during thunderstorms, and it is said that they will evolve if hit by lightning. However, on one occasion when a Electakarp was observed being struck, it merely fainted from the electrical overload.
Its swimming muscles are weak, so it is easily washed away by currents. When a storm approaches, it competes with others to scale heights that are likely to be stricken by lightning.
