Cupede keep their tough outer exoskeleton turned outward to protect themselves from the harsh heat of their desert home. Bony spurs jut from their bodies to give them extra grip as they roll around.
It is usually motionless, but when attacked, it rotates at high speed and then crashes into its opponent. It pines for the mother it will never see again.
