Ferrosis are surrounded by a mysterious gel that hardens into jade spikes whenever anything comes close. Whenever they want a hug, they will telepathically communicate with their Trainer to ensure that the gel does not accidentally harden.
Because their bodies are enveloped in a special liquid, they can survive in any environment. They stick their spikes into cave walls and absorb the minerals they find in the rock.
