Woonoir drinks from rivers where a death has recently occurred, carrying the water home in its mouth. Mixed with a gel it secretes, it uses this to build a structure that is said to let mourners commune with the departed.

The antenna on its head captures radio waves from the world of spirits that command it to take people there. Woonoir usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally.
