Whirlibarel doesn't move much, as it wants to keep its protective shell from falling apart. If it does fall off, it will hunt for a Caterpie nest to use the larvae's sticky silk to stick its shell back together.
It makes its nest by damming streams with bark and mud. It is usually motionless, but when attacked, it rotates at high speed and then crashes into its opponent.
