Weepinile buries itself in warm sand until prey comes in close proximity. Once it leaps out, it spits out a mouthful of sand laced with digestive enzymes from its mouth to cover and incapacitate its target.

It moves along below the sand's surface, except for its nose and eyes. At night, a Weepinile hangs on to a tree branch with its hooked rear and sleeps.
