The markings along an Umbdos's body glow only when the moon is exposed, even if it is not within the moonlight itself. As such, it is a diurnal hunter that pounces upon prey with nets of silk and subdues them with its venomous bites.
Its feet are tipped with tiny hooked claws that enable it to scuttle on ceilings and vertical walls. Umbdos evolved from exposure to the moon's energy pulses.
