The pattern on every Togeper's shell is unique, formed from all the emotions around them while they are still in their egg. A luxury market exists for Togeper with as few markings as possible as they are considered elegant.

Togeper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. As its energy, it uses the feelings of compassion and pleasure exuded by people and Pokémon.
