Tankhan constantly caresses the child in its pouch with its many vines. If it is unable to fight off an attacker, it will break off some of its own vines and throw them aside as a wriggling distraction, since these tendrils quickly grow back.
If you come across a young Tankhan playing by itself, never try to catch it. Its vines snap off easily and painlessly if they are grabbed, allowing it to make a quick getaway.
