As the mushrooms on the backs of Drifbsect grow, they fill with gas and begin to float, connected by thin strands to their bodies. If attacked, the helium filled pockets will burst, spreading spores and allowing the individual Drifbsect to retreat.

Drifbsect are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients. It's drowzy in daytime, but flies off in the evening in big groups.
