Magtump appear after volcanic eruptions, forming out of the burnt tree stumps. Despite the stump being coated in a layer of heat-resistant ash, Magtump's molten body will slowly burn it away.
These Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest. The shell on its back is made of hardened magma.
