The waxy leaves that form Ivypede's shells smell like rubber. To escape predators while they prepare for evolution, they whirl their entire bodies and slam their flexible bulbs into the ground, bouncing away to safety.
Ivypede slowly rotates its body to allow equal light to strike its leaves. A well-cared-for Ivypede may allow Trainers to pick its leaves for use in salads.
It is usually motionless, but when attacked, it rotates at high speed and then crashes into its opponent. To support its bulb, Ivypede's legs grow sturdy.
