Despite its new cocoon, Metabat can still fly. Because its wings remain free, it can escape from predators should the need arise, though it prefers to stay immobile.
While living in pitch-black caverns, their eyes gradually grew shut and deprived them of vision. Its shell is as hard as an iron slab.
