Zukin are found in odd shady places in steppe climates, such as in the crevices of trees or even in underground burrows. They run about during the night and are not deterred by the cold due to the natural warmth their bodies generate.

As it walks, it munches on a twig in place of a snack. While living in pitch-black caverns, their eyes gradually grew shut and deprived them of vision.
