Weetortle protects its long tail at any cost. If it finds itself in a dangerous situation, such as facing a powerful Scyther, it will coat its tail in tough and durable silk webbing so that its tail is protected even if Weetortle hides in its shell.

Its large tail is covered with rich, thick fur that deepens in color with age. A POKENAME has an extremely acute sense of smell.
