Walkhan floats on its back while swimming, keeping the Spheal in its pouch above water. A thick layer of fat keeps it warm and protected inside, but if it is safe, Walkhan will break through the ice to create a small area for its child to swim in.

If you come across a young Walkhan playing by itself, never try to catch it. To protect its herd, the leader battles anything that invades its territory, even at the cost of its life.
