Wailvern are able to move through both air and water, though their heavy stature prevents them from flying for very long. By slamming their wings together, they create sonic booms to drive away predators.

They fly around on moonless nights and attack careless prey. While this Pokémon usually lives in the sea, it can survive on land, although not too long.
