Volcaesect's six wings are made of razor-sharp sheets of metal. The cannon above its head usually fires scorching rays of heat, although Volcaesect will blast out other forms of energy if surrounded by flammable materials, as it is not immune to fire.

It is said that a Volcaesect lies dormant within every volcano across the planet. If angered, it fires heated energy blasts from its cannon more powerful than any volcanic eruption.

This ancient bug Pokémon was altered by Team Plasma. A sea of fire engulfs the surroundings of their battles, since they use their six wings to scatter their ember scales.
