When in direct sunlight, Torchoh's feathers reflect in a rainbow of colors. It will fly around and follow people it finds interesting; these same people have reported having increased life satisfaction when interviewed later by researchers.

Its feathers--which glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light--are thought to bring joy. If attacked, it strikes back by spitting balls of fire it forms in its stomach.
