In the wild, Tentadra lay huge clutches of eggs, with the male vigilantly protecting the nest while the female hunts for the pair until the young hatch. Its fins and tentacles produce deadly toxins, but these are diluted to create anesthetics.
The poisonous barbs all over its body are highly valued as ingredients for making traditional herbal medicine. It lives in complex rock formations on the ocean floor and traps prey using its 80 tentacles.
