Tanshrew curl up into balls and lash at threats with Vine Whips to further protect themselves. They are often found near desert oases, their vines being used to absorb water and keep them clean of grains of sand.

When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly. Its vines snap off easily and painlessly if they are grabbed, allowing it to make a quick getaway.
