Startortle tend to swagger around Cerulean City, often adjusting their ears to show off their shine. If no one gives them attention, they adjust their sunglasses so that sunlight reflects off and into the nearest person's eyes.

Its large tail is covered with rich, thick fur that deepens in color with age. People in ancient times imagined that Startortle were transformed from the reflections of stars that twinkled on gentle waves at night.
