Its fins are too small to swim, so it must drag itself along the ocean floor to move. When threatened, Shellraid will burrow into the sand, leaving only its hard shell exposed.

A Shellraid uses its abdominal muscles to forcefully expel swallowed water, then shoot down flying prey. At night, it burrows a hole in the seafloor with its broad tongue to make a place to sleep.
