When frightened, Psyder quickly retracts and snaps its hardened shell shut for defense. Sometimes it closes so fast it snaps down on its bill before it fully retracts, causing mild headaches.
At night, it burrows a hole in the seafloor with its broad tongue to make a place to sleep. When its headache intensifies, it starts using strange powers.
