Once considered a parasite, scientists now understand that Cactik benefits its host. It latches onto larger Pokémon and drinks their blood, using the waste products and returning the water, letting the host survive in drier regions.
They attach themselves to large-bodied Pokémon and absorb static electricity, which they store in an electric pouch. After spending thousands of years in harsh deserts, its blood transformed into the same substances as sand.
