Belbat is not blind like many Zubat variants; its single eye is hidden in its mouth. When hunting, it flies in front of its prey and blinds them with a flash of light from its eye before using its fangs to drain blood.
While living in pitch-black caverns, their eyes gradually grew shut and deprived them of vision. When Belbat gather in a swarm, they move in perfect unison as if they were but one Pokémon.
