Sandper gather in large colonies, taking turns to keep watch. They mark their territory with a gel they secrete, and if anything enters it, they all gather together and attack it. Their superior numbers are often enough to send threats running.
Sandper usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally. When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly.
