Umbaura was revived after a fossil preserved in ice was irradiated by the energy of a lunar meteorite. Its obsidian-black scales allow it to hide in the darkness. When it cries, the aurora borealis appears in the night sky.
This ancient Pokémon was restored from part of its body that had been frozen in ice for over 100 million years. Umbaura evolved from exposure to the moon's energy pulses.
