Woomo-o lounge half-submerged in tarns at high altitudes where many larger Pokémon struggle to breathe. Due to a lack of natural predators, they are very friendly and their scales glow with joy when Trainers approach them in their natural habitat.

It expresses its feelings by smacking its scales. Woomo-o usually live in water but come out onto land seeking food occasionally.
