When spooked or tired, Sandbat will burrow under sand to rest temporarily. Sand often gets in their ears, disrupting their echolocation.
While living in pitch-black caverns, their eyes gradually grew shut and deprived them of vision. When it curls up in a ball, it can make any attack bounce off harmlessly.
