Sablpede are the primary predators of Carpede and also often fight with them for territory due to both species' desire to feed on precious minerals. Their feet are sharp and strong, allowing them to quickly burrow through hard rock.
It discovers what is going on around it by using the feelers on its head and tail. It digs branching holes in caves using its sharp claws in search of food--raw gems.
