Ratran has differently colored fur spots scattered across its body. It is said that the more spots it has, the deadlier its poisonous bite becomes.
Ironically Ratran is often mistaken for a male Nidoran because of its purple hide despite the species being predominantly female. Though docile, Ratran's sharp teeth are very dangerous as they are sharp and venomous.
Its highly toxic barbs are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon. A Ratran is cautious in the extreme.
