Qwilsaur occasionally emerge from the water to gather Berries and stick them along their spines to drain them of nutrients. The juice from the Berries mixes into a sweet-smelling poison that deters predators in the deep sea.

Qwilsaur can be seen napping in bright sunlight. A Qwilsaur uses the pressure of water it swallows to shoot toxic quills all at once from all over its body.
