Pupisaur use their broad, stony faces to protect the sensitive bulbs on their backs. The purple color of the bulbs comes from thin layers of fast-acting poison meant to protect the energy inside until the Pupisaur's evolution.

Pupisaur can be seen napping in bright sunlight. A Pupisaur creates a gas inside its body that it ejects under compression to propel itself like a jet.
