As Polivoir swims, its dress-like appendage undulates in a hypnotising manner, causing most potential predators to simply space out. Anything not affected may be repelled by the psychokinetic barrier Polivoir sets up around it.
It apparently does not feel the pull of gravity because it supports itself with psychic power. It is possible to see this Pokémon's spiral innards right through its thin skin.
