Pararelp release blooms of toxic spores as they swim, killing off most aquatic plants whilst leaving kelp forests totally unharmed. Ecologists carefully monitor Pararelp populations, ensuring they don't get out of hand and disrupt aquatic ecosystems.

Camouflaged as rotten kelp, they spray liquid poison on prey that approaches unawares and then finish it off. Pararelp are known to infest the roots of large trees en masse and drain nutrients.
