Paloeon stores electricity in its sandy mane and releases it in powerful bursts. When its lightning strikes the ground, it forms fragile fulgurite spikes that it uses to mark and defend its den.

Its cells generate weak power that is amplified by its fur's static electricity to drop thunderbolts. Buried beneath the castle are masses of dried-up bones from those whose vitality it has drained.
