Onmander have trouble containing their fire, so they gather rocks to form armor that contains their excess energy. If their armor ever starts to melt, they will use the molten rocks to hold the new ones together.
The flame that burns at the tip of its tail is an indication of its emotions. There is a magnet in its brain that prevents an Onmander from losing direction while tunneling.
