Fossil evidence of Omacargo shows they were important in the food chain, acting as predators to smaller Pokémon, whilst also being food for larger predators. They boil the water around them to scare off predators, scalding those that get close.

The shell on its back is made of hardened magma. An Omacargo uses its tentacles to capture its prey.
