Nidoking mixes Nidoking's vast power with the female Nidoran's timid nature. Any damage it causes is typically incidental, accidentally hitting things with its thick and powerful tail as it quickly turns to flee from perceived danger.
A Nidoking's thick tail packs enormously destructive power capable of toppling a metal transmission tower. Its highly toxic barbs are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon.
