Nidoceus is said to appear before orphaned Nidoran and take care of them in their time of need. Nidoran raised by it are said to be some of the strongest, yet most gentle of all, acting as stalwart defenders of young Pokémon in the wild.
It is described in mythology as the Pokémon that shaped the universe with its 1,000 arms. Its highly toxic barbs are thought to have developed as protection for this small-bodied Pokémon.
